She was born in Pennsylvania
Her hair was raven black
And fell in brilliant masses
To the middle of her back
On her cheeks the tint of roses
Her eyes blue-grey and bright
Her lips were like the dew-drops
And her teeth were pearly white
It was at a school I met her
When she was but a lass
Where I went to meet my sister
One evning after class
The minute that I met her
She set my heart a-twirl
I wooed, I wooed, and won her
My Pennsylvania girl
Gently I did ask her
If she'd be mine for life
And sweetly she did tell me
That she would be my wife
As we travel down life's pathway
When the going it gets tough
She was always there beside me
She was made of real good stuff
She's the mother of my children
She has rocked each little crib
She just loves to be a mother
And she scorns the women's lib
She just wants to be a woman
She don't want to be a man
She would live as God created her
And according to His plan
She's the same old fashion lassie
That set my heart a-twirl
And that is why I love her so
My Pennsylvania girl
